WRITING NEWS ROUNDUP – MAY 2022

Hello everyone!! Decided to put all my news into one post for ease of access. The last few months have been very busy for me but things are settling down and it’s time to get to writing!

Firstly, I’m very excited to share I will be the editor of the upcoming BOUND IN FLESH: AN ANTHOLOGY OF TRANS BODY HORROR from Ghoulish Books, releasing sometime in 2023. Submissions are open until the end of July! I’m sure you all know by now how Body Horror is my favourite subgenre, so I’m over the moon.

My beloved novella INSIDE OUT has found a home with Darklit Press, and we’re working towards a release (no date yet.) I’ll also be releasing a chapter of the book as a nice preview with them!

My very first published article has found its way into people hands, via Lost In Cult‘s [lock-on] 003 about my favourite Dreamcast game, SKIES OF ARCADIA. There are leftover physical editons as well as digital versions on their website. Stay tuned for future volumes…

The Indiegogo campaign for Hear Us Scream‘s THE VOICES OF HORROR: VOLUME TWO went live and is at 20% of it’s goal right now, with about a month left. We can do it!! I’ll be writing about–can you guess? Yes it’s Body Horror. I am very predictable. But I love to explore the subgenre and the ways I relate to it as a non-binary person, so I’ll continue to do so until you all get tired of me or my hands fall off, which ever comes first.

On the fiction side of things, I received a story acceptance for NERVE-JANGLERS: THIRTEEN TALES OF TERROR, A YA horror anthology from Night Terror Novels. My story “LETTERS” follows a trans girl as she discovers her witchy ancestors. I will also be appearing in REWIRED: AN ANTHOLOGY OF NEURODIVERSE HORROR from Ghost Orchid Press with “GENESI”, which is both a reflection on ADHD hyperfocusing and dealing with Covid last year.

Lastly, you can always find me on Horror Obsessive, where I cover everything from indie games to upcoming horror book releases and news.

Needless to say I have been a bit busier than usual, but also incredibly grateful for these opportunities I could have never imagined. I have a few things coming in June, so I’ll try to do these round-ups once a month. I’m also on Twitter where I obsess over my cats.
